A little bit about me … Betty Jacks and the Hand Crafters Hub ........

Hello & Welcome, I’m Barbara, I’m the owner and creative behind Betty Jacks and the Hand Crafters Hub in Barnard Castle.  For quite a few years now I’ve hand painted, refinished and upcycled vintage furniture.  I pride myself in lovingly and sympathetically restoring each piece to create stunning, timeless pieces, each with their own identity.  

I’m excited and often blown away to see quality unloved pieces from the past refurbished into beautiful pieces of furniture and I cannot tell you how incredibly proud, and happy it has made me me feel knowing that pieces I’ve refinished are being bought by you and loved in homes around the country.  Since taking over the Hand Crafters Hub most of my time is now spent in the shop so I concentrate mainly on smaller pieces of furniture, upholstery and lampshades. 

The Hand Crafters Hub is an award winning independent home and gift shop where you'll find an amazing selection of locally produced handcrafted gifts, home decor, lampshades and table lamps, each one bespoke and unique. Browse elegant jewellery, vintage items, and vinyl records.  Plus, we are official stockists of Cornish Milk Mineral Paint, so you too can transform your own furniture!  With a growing list of local crafters showcasing their work alongside award winning artisans.  There is something for everyone and if you’d like to come along to one of our workshops, we’ll be offering these soon!
