This stunning asian inspired Tallboy chest of drawers in the style of Chippendale has been restored and hand painted with a deep charcoal grey matt mineral paint and buffed with furniture salve for added durability and to create a gentle sheen. Hints of gold gilding wax highlight the floral design carving to the side front edges and the moulding around the top surface. Between the front legs is a further stretch of carving also refinished with hints of gold gilding wax. The chest rests on carved cabriole style legs with ball and claw feet. The balls themselves have been brushed with gold gilding then buffed with the charcoal grey to give an aged appearance.
It has six compact drawers, although narrow they have ample depth for storage. The sides of the dovetailed drawers have been layered with a pale mustard furniture paint and gold gilding wax. The inside bottom of each drawer has been refinished with charcoal mineral paint with the original sides cleaned and revived with cactus blossom furniture salve.
The gold effect brass pulls have been thoroughly cleaned and polished, a perfect finishing touch for this gorgeous hardwood piece of furniture, bold and beautiful, destined to add a striking touch to any room lucky enough to have it!
